You can’t show what can’t be seen, but that is not exactly true. What can’t be seen may be suggested and that suggestion can be seen with a sort of particular clarity. This is the case of sound or its absence. As a metaphor, that absence can be communicated to the one who sees it. The wall of silence may be shown and in this gesture, not only the violence from that separation is visible but also the strange amniotic comfort that it may give. It’s images from another world set in in a recognizable world.
